Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Katharotiya didn’t go to the dentist until he was 15, but that seminal experience was enough to put him on the path he still walks today. The doctor’s kindness, along with the profession’s combination of science and art, instantly drew Dr. Katharotiya and let him know it was the career for him.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Katharotiya’s dental education started in India, where he earned his first degree from the College of Dental Sciences in Davangere before going on to graduate from the USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. Over the years, he’s taken many advanced courses through Spear Education for general dentistry, endodontics (root canal treatment), and oral surgery. To stay on top of the latest research and findings in dentistry, he is also a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Katharotiya’s life beyond the office is delightfully busy thanks to his wife and their young daughter, and you’ll often find them watching movies together on the weekends. Never one to sit still, Dr. Katharotiya is always ready for a new challenge, whether it’s a unique hobby or an interesting book he’s reading.
