Get to Know Harmanjot Kahlon, DDS

It’s hard for Dr. Kahlon to name her favorite aspect of being a dentist. The work is interesting and always evolving, but if she had to choose, it’s the relationships she forms with her patients. Nothing in the world feels better than getting to know someone, truly understanding them, and then helping them improve their health, appearance, and confidence all at once.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Kahlon had always been interested in healthcare and wanted a career where she could help people while working with her hands. Dentistry felt like the perfect combination of patient care, science, and problem-solving. She also loves that dentistry allows her to build connections with her patients and see the difference she makes in their health, comfort, and confidence. It’s a career that continuously challenges her to learn and grow while giving opportunities to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Kahlon worked as a dental assistant for a year before going to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. While there, she was invited to join Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society reserved for only the top-performing students in each class. To date, she has served as the events coordinator for DOCS (Dental Outreach & Community Services) and treasurer for the AAWD (American Association of Women Dentists). She is also an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Stanislaus Dental Society.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
