Kids Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Just like the adults we see, children should plan to see one of our dentists every six months for regular dental checkups and cleanings. Depending on their age, we will tailor these visits, so they remain comfortable and calm. We’ll look for any signs of decay or cavities as well as remove harmful plaque and tartar from their teeth and gums. One of our expertly trained dental professionals will also offer helpful tips they can use to improve their oral hygiene at home and maintain a healthier smile in between appointments.
Dental Sealants

The back teeth located in a child’s mouth can be easily missed during the at-home cleaning process because they’re often hard to reach. Our team can safeguard these molars and premolars with dental sealants, which are clear coatings that are placed over the chewing surfaces and prevent bacteria and food debris from penetrating and causing cavities to form. Offering superior protection for up to 10 years, sealants allow your child to hone their brushing techniques while trusting that these teeth are safe.
Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

If you have a child who is active in sports, do not forget to properly protect their smile with a customized athletic mouthguard. These cushioned devices, when worn correctly, can effectively absorb any pressure that is placed against your child’s teeth and gums. They’re also designed for added comfort and easy breathing, so you don’t have to worry about your child taking theirs out during a game.
Lip & Tongue Tie Treatment

When a restricted band of tissue (frenulum) keeps your child from being able to nurse, eat solid foods, breathe with their mouth closed, or speak without slurring their words, they have what is referred to as a lip or tongue tie. Our dentists can perform a frenectomy to release the tie located underneath the tongue or behind the upper lip, giving your baby, child, or teenager improved oral function and a better quality of life.
Pulp Treatment

When an infection forms in the deepest layer of your child’s tooth, they will likely experience significant pain because of the various nerves located in what is known as the pulp. To alleviate the problem and prevent possible tooth extraction, we can administer pulp treatment, which involves removing this portion of the tooth and placing a custom dental crown on top. What they are left with is a healthier, pain-free smile that can grow stronger and function normally each day.
